Chapman Entertainment Turns to Social Media to Reach Mums

Television production and licensing company Chapman Entertainment, has appointed iKontakt to reach out to mums for its pre-school TV show, Little Charley Bear.

Little Charley Bear is the new series for 1 to 4 year olds on CBeebies every weekday at 9.30am and 1.30pm, narrated by James Corden. This adorable little bear uses his imagination to play and go on adventures where he discovers new things about himself and the world around him through active role play. Little Charley Bear is a gently paced show that inspires creativity, discovery and imagination. It has the feel of a classic children’s television show but with advanced modern animation.

The campaign, which includes a Facebook page, blogger outreach, merchandise seeding and online PR, will run from April until Christmas 2011. Branded content such as video, games, apps and educational resources will be shared throughout the campaign, to coincide with merchandise and event launches, and the run up to Christmas. The Facebook page will aim to become a community of parents who share an interest in Little Charley Bear, sharing exclusive content and providing up to date information for fans.

Online PR agency iKontakt was appointed after a 3 way pitch, having worked previously on campaigns for other Chapman Entertainment brands, Roary the Racing Car and Fifi and the Flowertots, in 2010.

Nikki Grass, Director of Marketing for Chapman Entertainment, says, “We strongly believe that social media gives us a unique opportunity to engage with mums. iKontakt presented a very strong strategy for Little Charley Bear and we are looking forward to working with them again.”

iKontakt comments, “Mums are one of the fastest growing consumer groups in social media – it provides an invaluable channel for information sharing, support and social interaction, and smart phones mean that mums can connect wherever they are and whatever they are doing. Chapman Entertainment, as a TV company, has a wealth of top quality content that we are looking forward to sharing with Little Charley Bear fans.”

We are proud to support Comic Relief

We are proud to have been asked again to help Comic Relief ensure that Red Nose Day 2009 is a great success. iKontakt has been appointed to spread the word through online PR, encouraging individuals and companies to get involved with fundraising for the event, which takes place on 13thMarch 2009. We are also approaching media owners with a request to donate online inventory to host Red Nose Day banners and other creatives, including expandable banners.

Having worked in a similar way with Sport Relief and Children In Need, we have found the digital community to be very supportive of good causes. Even though we recognise many media owners are under extra pressure in these uncertain times, we are hopeful of a positive response in 2009.

Please contact us if you would like to get involved, or have inventory that you can donate.
